As you know Odia series are now getting top demand in Odia TV industry. Recently so many viewers have changed their taste of watching other language serials and got a addicted to watch serials in their own language. Looking on the demand and increase of viewers, Odia TV channels are also upgrading their contents and quality day by day. Also the number of Odia GEC channels are also increasing by number. Earlier if we are going back to time before 2010, Odisha was only 2 GEC channels and among them DD 6 was the govt channel which was playing only 1 or 2 serials per day. Beside DD Odisha was only having one private entertainment channel as ETV Odia. That channel was also playing 2 or 3 serials per day. When the demand of Odia serials increased and the reach of cable & DTH increased in various area of Odisha, few more channels started entering to Odia Industry. basically the entry of OTV happened which later devided into 2 channels. OTV News & Tarang TV. Tarang was the entertainment channel. Also so many history is there , but we are not gonna discuss them all.
But right now Odisha have so many GEC channels like Zee sarthak, Sidharth TV (Upcoming), Tarang TV, Colors Odia, DD Odia, MBC TV, Manjari TV, Star Kirano (upcoming).
